A high performance sea kayak for the ambitious medium to small paddler. Made of Kevlar, coming in at 43 lbs!
Renowned kayak designer Derek Hutchinson worked closely with Brian Henry at Current Designs design team to develop the Slipstream, the scaled-down version of the highly successful Gulfstream kayak.
With a 16' length and a 22" beam, this kayak is sleek in design and performs best with a paddler weighing in less than170lbs. The nicely detailed cockpit and seating area, along with the low stern deck design, allows the paddler easy, safe movement and control when performing rolls or advanced maneuvers.
It is outfitted with a retractable skeg, which gives the kayak stiffer tracking when deployed. This eye-catching craft is efficiently detailed with full deck rigging and recessed deck fittings, and has three self-sealing rubber hatches. The Slipstream has proved itself to be a favorite among North American kayak instructors, a testimony to its performance and quality.
This is a fantastic used kayak that has been well cared for and in excellent condition. There is one small gelcoat repair on the hull. It is a great option for those seeking a Greenland paddling style kayak. This boat only weighs 43 lbs!
